Wellington is home to some awesome trails, which we love to explore with our Run Club. Here are some of our favourites, head on out and give them a go!

ree

Korokoro Dam

Starting Place: End of Cornish Street, Petone.

Follow the main track out to the dam and back for a great undulating trail run. Add in a couple of extra km's and with a loop up to Oakleigh street past the dam.

Distance: 8km + 2km if you do the extra loop from the dam.

Trail: Undulating, great for trail beginners.

Mount Kaukau Loop

Starting Place: Old Coach Road, Johnsonville.

Follow the main track up to the top of Kaukau, taking in the side mountain bike tracks on your way for an easier gradient up.

Distance: 8km

Trail: 4km of uphill! But the mountain bike tracks make it good for running.

Te Whiti Riser

Starting Place: Riverside Drive, Waiwhetu.

A fun up and back run, with awesome views at the top. Follow the main track all the way to the top (avoid the fire breaks!).

Distance: 8km

Trail: 4km of gentle up on a nice wide track. It can get pretty busy on this track with bike, walkers and dogs.

Te Ara Paparārangi

Starting Place: Waihinahina Park, Newlands.

Head across the dog park to the right and duck into the start of the trail for a fun undulating out and back trail.

Distance: 7.5km

Trail: Lot's of fun up and downs and a magical lookout point makes this run a firm favourite for our Run Club crew.

Ōtari-Wilton's Bush

Starting Place: Ōtari-Wilton's Bush main carpark, Wilton.

There are lot's of great trails to run on in Ōtari-Wilton's Bush, we recommend just picking one and having an explore! You can run all the way up to the Karori Cemetery and even loop on to the Skyline for longer adventures.

Distance: Anything you like!

Trail: Beautiful bush trails, some technical bits in there!

Happy Running!
