What does Interval Training mean at Life In Motion?
We use a timer at sessions set at variable intervals. Sometimes it's 20 seconds or it could be a minute. You work during that time period then you get a set amount of rest time, then repeat! Each session is different, we like to mix up the training so classes are fun and challenging.
Where do I start?
The 10am FREE community session on Saturday is a great place to start. A wonderful big group session with all abilities jumping around and having fun, with low impact and high impact options. Our 6:30pm HIIT sessions also have low impact options for those just starting out.
Where are you based?
We run our sessions from Newlands Intermediate and Rewa Rewa Primary schools. Both these schools are in the Northern Suburbs in Wellington. Under each class description on the timetable above, it will have the school the class is on at.
When we hit warmer weather we move all our classes to the Newlands Intermediate turf facility, but we will update the timetable when we make this change.
Can I bring my kids?
With all LIM sessions you are welcome to bring your kids along. They can participate in any of the sessions, except the strength and circuit sessions (due to the weights being used). There are plenty of spots for them to run around or sit and watch at all of the classes.
What if I have an injury?
We recommend getting clearance from your doctor if you have a specific injury that could prevent you from exercising. If you have been cleared to attend classes then simply let us know about your injuries when you attend for the first time and we can sort out any exercise modifications where required. All classes can be modified and we are strong advocates for doing what you can to your own ability.
What do I need to bring?
Bring a water bottle, wear comfortable clothes and shoes for running around. You can also bring a mat if you require padding for your knees and elbows, or borrow one of ours.
How much does it cost and how do I pay?
All sessions are $10 (except 10am Saturday and 8am Run Club which are FREE) and you can pay with cash at the session or by bank transfer into the LIM bank account: 02-1264-0014101-25. We also have concession cards which are $90 for 10 sessions.
