Why we like a strong butt!

Here are my favourite reasons for including glute work in our Run Club workouts.

Your glutes work to stabilize the pelvis and keep integrity of movement in the hip joint. When they are strong, your lower back doesn't bear the brunt of your motion. When your pelvis isn't stable, it puts a lot of pressure on your knees and ankles to compensate.

Stronger glutes will improve your speed, agility, and jumping, and quick side-to-side movements will also become much easier. These movements are essential for trail runners and handy for road runners…you never know when you might have to hoof it over an obstacle mid run right?!

If you have knee, back or ankle pain I would recommend including some glute work into your weekly workouts.
